Exotic Litchi Shake

Health Benefits:

Litchi is rich in Polyphenols. Phenolic rich foods and it’s extracts are shown to have antioxidants, anti-inflammatory, anticancer, vasodilatory and neuro-protective properties. Litchi extract is called Oligonol which is rich in polyphenols and is produced through processing to improve the bio-availability . As per a study published in Journal of Nutrition in 2014, oligonols can lower the serum urea nitrogen and creatinine concentrations which are indicators for kidney dysfunction. Another study in 2015 proved oligonol was able to improve diabetic indices, prevent the development of diabetic renal disease, and preserve renal cells and the renal morphological structure.

Litchi Shake Recipe

Yield: 3 Portions, Serving size: 3/4C (180ml)

Features:

  1. 6gms protein in 180ml
  2. Medium potassium
  3. Glycemic Load : 7 -low
  4. Rich in antioxidants and Polyphenols

Ingredients:           

  • 10, Litchi, Deseeded
  • 1/2C Paneer
  • 1/2C Milk
  • 1C Water, Chilled
  • 3/4C Ice
  • 4tsp Sugar
  • 1 Cardamom

Preparation:

  1. Add Ice and plain water first in the blender and blend 8 litchis.
  2. After blending litchis, add milk, paneer, sugar, cardamom seeds and blend till smooth.
  3. Serve in the cups and chop the remaining 2 litchis and sprinkle on the top for a chewy texture.
